1.4 What are the SSDI rules regarding work?

Under current SSDI program rules, if you have earnings and/or work activity above Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) during the 36-month reentitlement period in a month following your Trial Work Period and Grace Period, you lose your entire benefit for that month. This is the so-called "cash cliff:" You are paid your full benefit if earnings are at or below SGA, but you are paid $0 if your earnings are above SGA.
